About Us
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about us and the Back 40 Boutique. I began etching glass as a hobby 20 years ago on my dining room table. Eventually, I started custom etching glass doors for gun cabinets made by a local furniture builder... and so a business was born! I gradually expanded my creativity to custom wood carving after I spent a little time learning this lovely "old" craft from the experts in Branson, Mo with of course, many hours of trial and error. I've always enjoyed creating things with my hands, being artistic and "crafty", so I have also come to enjoy refurbishing junk found at flea markets as well as creating unique floral arrangements inspired by nature. I get so excited when I see something old and neglected needing a little attention and then giving it a new purpose for decorating my home... or yours! I find inspiration in anything you see in nature, and anything that looks like it has a history... a story to tell from many years ago.
One of the new, unique services we are excited to offer at the Back 40 Boutique, is party décor' rental. Weddings, birthdays, anniversary parties, etc. can be quite expensive and even stressful to decorate, which I have learned the hard way! Our new décor' rental program can solve that problem with beautiful candle-abras, centerpieces, cake stands, table skirts and more... for a fraction of the cost, stress free! If I don't have an item that you have in mind for your special event, I'll either custom create it for you or order it to have in stock. I am confident that we can design your party décor' to be a beautiful, one of a kind, exceptional experience.
The old saying "creativity comes from necessity" is living proof in the growth of the Back 40 Boutique. I thank God for giving me these talents and the desire to share the fruits of my labor, for giving me the appreciation of true old fashioned craftsmanship, and for the craving I have to improve and learn more. ( I'm also thankful for a very patient, helpful husband! )
I truly hope to have the opportunity to create an heirloom for your family, or just the chance to meet if you happen to stop by our cozy boutique in central Wisconsin. My husband and I have always loved and appreciated the long lost art of hand made, original creativity and strive to provide products that honor a tradition we can be proud of and that you can treasure for generations to come.
Sincerely,
JerriAnne Ovaska
